Exotic Oxtail

From Mamma Blossom's Kitchen to Yours
Spicy and savory, this Jamaican classic recipe covers all the bases. Classic ingredients like butter beans, scotch bonnet pepper, garlic and fresh limes are spiced with our very own Ox Tail Seasoning and, of course, our All-Purpose Seasoning. Once you try this recipe, you'll find it may be one of your favorites, too.
2lb of Oxtail
1 can of butter beans
5 cups of water
1 onion
2 tomatoes
2 scallion
1/2 a scotch bonnet pepper
½ cup of carrots
4 cloves of garlic
4 sprigs of fresh thyme
2 teaspoon of Seasoned’s Ox Tail Seasoning
2 teaspoons of Seasoned’s All-Purpose seasoning
1 tsp allspice seasoning
Cooking Directions:
- Chop the scallion, scotch bonnet pepper, garlic, onion, tomato, carrot and thyme
- Season the oxtail with scallion, scotch bonnet pepper, garlic, thyme, allspice, Blend Ox Tail Seasoning, Seasoned’s All-Purpose seasoning
- Fry the oxtail and seasoning in a tablespoon of oil for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the water, onion, tomato and carrot, turn down the heat and simmer the pot until the oxtail has softened (about three hours), stirring occasionally.
- Add the beans and simmer for a further 30 minutes
- Serve with rice and peas

Freeman staff Jul 8, 2019 SAUGERTIES, N.Y. — There's no need to fly all the way to the Caribbean to see an authentic carnival. Experience one at the Cantine Veterans Memorial Complex near the Kiwanis Ice Arena on Sunday, Aug 11, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thousands of people came to the inaugural festival last year to enjoy live music, dance and a DJ. There were also more than 60 vendors; games and family fun activities for all ages; arts and craft booths; face painting; and a costume contest with a $250 grand prize. Bring the whole family to revel in the festive fun and culture and learn about these beautiful islands. The free event, a benefit for the Center 4 Creative Education, is sponsored by Seasoned Delicious Foods of Saugerties and Kingston's Harambee .
